The Cisco UCS C240 M5L is a 2U rack server designed for high performance and scalability, supporting up to two Intel Xeon Scalable processors and 24 DDR4 DIMM slots for memory. It offers significant storage capacity with support for up to 12 Large-Form-Factor (LFF) 3.5-inch drives in the front and two rear hot-swappable SFF drives. This server is ideal for demanding workloads like big data analytics, AI, and machine learning, and features a dedicated mLOM slot for a network card without using a PCIe slot.

Cisco C220 M5 SFF Server (Equivalent to Dell R640 Server)

The UCS C220 M5 SFF server extends the capabilities of Cisco’s Unified Computing System portfolio in a 1U form factor with the 2nd Generation Intel Xeon Scalable Processors, DDR4-3200MHz memory, two 2 PCI Express (PCIe) 3.0 slots, and up to 10 SAS/SATA hard disk drives (HDDs) or solid-state drives (SSDs). The C220 M5 server includes one dedicated internal modular LAN on the motherboard (mLOM) connector for the installation of a Cisco Virtual Interface Card (VIC) or third-party network interface card (NIC), without consuming a PCI slot, in addition to 2 x 10Gbase-T Intel x550 embedded (on the motherboard) LOM ports.

The Cisco UCS C220 M5 server can be used standalone or as part of the Cisco Unified Computing System, which unifies computing, networking, management, virtualization, and storage access into a single integrated architecture, enabling end-to-end server visibility, management, and control in both bare metal and virtualized environments.
